FOUNDER

Hey, great to see that you have reached Realskate. Where do i begin? In 2019 I attended a girls skate night in Blackpool at Ramp City. A lass named Jess and a bunch of her lads were helping out getting people rolling and that's where I learnt coaching was an actual thing!I'm born and bred Blackpoodlian! I teach here alot but love to travel!

BOOK NOW

A lovely lass called Jess pointed me in the direction of 'Get Rolling' and then well... Real Skate was born and the rest is history. Some people wander what I did before skateboarding? I have riden a board since I first stepped on one when I was around 13 years old (Somewhat 19 years ago) and Avril Lavignes Sk8rBoi appeared on TV. Something clicked and I found a love for skateboarding and how confident it made me feel.Fast forward to this coming year 2024 and I still volunteer at All Girls Skate Nights, Live Like Ralph Sessions and teach skateboarding at any given opportunity.I do not compete and never really seen skateboarding in this way. I'm certainly no Tony Hawk although I do attempt many basic tricks. My passion is for riding, cruising, getting creative with my board and teaching people how to roll.Sessions with me are what I believe skateboarding is all about, living and loving life. Breaking, spraining, injuring and bruising ourselves may be part of the process I aim to reduce accidents and injuries by teaching safe coaching styles. You want to compete? Fine! Let's get you there. I'm my supporters biggest fan. Skateboarding is life, it's what you make of it that counts. There's so much more to come from me. Check out the Alternativesportsacademy on instagram to find out more.

COACH: WOODY

"Hi, my name is Woody and I have been skateboarding since 1976. My mum and Dad bought me a skateboard for Christmas, I didn’t even know I wanted one, but I feel I found my lifetime path I really don’t know what my life would have been like without skateboarding.I have met so many good people along the way and my skating has taken me all over the UK and to a good few foreign destinations.I’ve never been a great skater, but it’s has always made me smile (except for the few occasions when I have broken bits of me) and I still enjoy skating as much as I can. But my real passion now has to lie in passing on my knowledge and encouraging others to learn to skate, this includes a monthly Girls Only skate night at Ramp City Skatepark, which provides a safe environment for girls to skate in.I want to try to encourage people to get as much from skateboarding as it has given me over the years. I'm excited to be representing Realskate Northwest."
